Derby’s ever-evolving grassroots music culture takes centre stage once again as DELTA ECHO FEST 2026 returns with a bold, collaborative vision. Spanning four days from 25th – 28th March 2026, this multi-venue festival is more than just a run of gigs-it is a statement of intent from a city whose independent music scene continues to grow louder, prouder and more unified.

Powered by a collective of Derby’s most dedicated promoters-Alpha Pro Creative, Fuzz Music Services, The Indie Night, Musik Box and Third Eye Live Events-DELTA ECHO FEST stands as a shining example of what can happen when competition is replaced with collaboration. The result is a carefully curated programme that celebrates every layer of the scene, from under-18 open mics to heavy headline sets, from acoustic introspection to genre-bending chaos.

This is Derby doing what it does best: backing its own.

A Festival Built for the Scene, by the Scene

DELTA ECHO FEST is rooted firmly in the grassroots. It is not about big-name headliners parachuting in-it is about platforming the artists, venues and communities that make Derby’s music culture what it is.

Across five events, four days and three venues, the festival brings together emerging talent, established local favourites and exciting touring acts. Whether you are a first-time performer stepping onto a stage or a seasoned gig-goer chasing your next favourite band, this is a weekend designed to feel inclusive, accessible and electric.

With free entry events, low-cost tickets and a full weekend pass priced at just £12, the festival removes barriers and puts the focus squarely on discovery, connection and live music at its most authentic.

Wednesday 25th March – Mr Shaw’s, Sadlergate

Under 18s Acoustic Open Mic (7pm – 9pm) – FREE

The festival opens with a vital nod to the future. This under-18 acoustic open mic offers young performers across Derby the chance to step up, be heard and gain their first taste of a live audience.

Set in the intimate surroundings of Mr Shaw’s on Sadlergate, the night promises raw talent, stripped-back performances and a genuine sense of community. It is as much about encouragement as it is about entertainment-a reminder that every great scene starts with giving people a stage.

Thursday 26th March – The Hairy Dog, Becket Street

Full Band Open Mic with The Hairy Doggers (7:30pm – 11pm) – FREE

Things ramp up at the TRENDИG Award-winning venue, The Hairy Dog, as the iconic full band open mic returns. With a full backline, PA, lighting and crew provided, this is a rare opportunity for musicians to experience a proper main stage setup.

Whether you are jumping on solo, jamming with mates or linking up with the house band, the night is all about spontaneity, energy and the thrill of live performance. It is Derby’s answer to living out your rock star moment-no barriers, just noise.

Friday 27th March – The Hairy Dog, Becket Street

Main Event Showcase (7pm – 11pm) – £8

Friday delivers a stacked lineup that bridges touring acclaim with local intensity, offering a snapshot of where modern alternative music is heading.

MAYA
Tipped as ‘ones to watch’ by Rolling Stone, MAYA blend introspective alt-rock with post-punk edge, shaped by sold-out shows across London’s most respected grassroots venues. With airplay on Radio X and BBC Introducing, their sound is sharp, emotive and forward-thinking, pushing indie boundaries into 2026.

Isaac Neilson
An indie rock force driven by relentless ambition, Isaac Neilson delivers fast-paced, high-energy sets packed with urgency and melody. His 2026 mission to perform a gig every single day fuels a live show that feels immediate, raw and impossible to ignore.

Orchard
This Derby four-piece channel a gritty fusion of rock, metal and grunge, combining heavy riffs with a raw, authentic edge. Their sound hits hard without losing its groove, capturing the spirit of underground rock with confidence and bite.

Hystamine
Heavy, atmospheric and unapologetically loud, Hystamine merge metal, punk and alt-rock into a powerful sonic wall. From soaring, ethereal vocals to brutal screams, their dynamic set moves between beauty and chaos with commanding intensity.

Saturday 28th March – Mr Shaw’s, Sadlergate

Daytime Acoustic Showcase (12pm – 5pm) – FREE

Saturday afternoon slows the pace without losing the impact, offering a carefully curated acoustic lineup full of emotion, storytelling and melody.

Sura Laynes
Delivering melodic rock and roll with a timeless touch, Sura Laynes combine clean guitar lines, rich harmonies and heartfelt songwriting. Their sound nods to classic influences while maintaining a fresh, modern energy.

Leland
An introspective acoustic artist with a self-aware edge, Leland leans into stripped-back songwriting and honest lyricism. His laid-back delivery and melancholic tone create a quietly powerful connection with listeners.

Graveyard Cop
The project of Tino Martin, Graveyard Cop blends ambient folk with atmospheric textures and deeply emotive songwriting. His catalogue of original material unfolds with a cinematic quality, drawing audiences into each carefully crafted moment.

Leah Wilcox
Blending country influences with dreamlike pop textures, Leah Wilcox brings a voice that is both powerful and soulful. Her performances balance emotional depth with polished delivery, leaving a lasting impression long after the final note.

Saturday 28th March – The Vic Inn, Midland Place

Final Night Showcase (Evening) – £8

The festival closes with a high-impact lineup at The Vic Inn, pushing energy levels to their peak with genre-defying performances.

Dead Rat Society
A chaotic fusion of punk lyricism, electronic beats and fuzz-driven rock, Dead Rat Society deliver a genre-bending live experience. Their unpredictable, high-octane sets are loud, fast and designed to leave a mark.

Blood Circuit
Combining hardcore punk aggression with heavy metal weight, Blood Circuit create a sound that is both brutal and emotionally charged. Their frontman shifts seamlessly between melodic passages and visceral screams, driving an intense live presence.

The Wednesday Incident
Bright guitar riffs, layered harmonies and soulful vocals define The Wednesday Incident’s take on indie rock. Their sound is uplifting yet grounded, offering a balance of energy and musicality.

Mantle
A five-piece force blending indie rock with post-punk intensity, Mantle deliver loud, energetic performances packed with driving rhythms and sharp hooks. Their sound is urgent, modern and built for the live stage.

Why DELTA ECHO FEST Matters

DELTA ECHO FEST 2026 is not just a festival-it is a reflection of Derby’s identity. It showcases a city where promoters collaborate instead of compete, where venues support emerging talent, and where audiences are willing to show up, discover and invest in their local scene.

It captures the full spectrum of grassroots music: the first-time performer, the touring breakout act, the experimental risk-taker and the crowd favourite all sharing the same platform.

In a time where independent music scenes across the UK face increasing pressure, events like this prove that community-driven culture is not only surviving-it is thriving.
