Marketon Park was alive with colour, flavour and community spirit this weekend as the annual Food and Drink Festival brought thousands of visitors together to enjoy a packed programme of entertainment and culinary delights. The festival, which has become one of Derby’s most popular summer highlights, featured an array of stalls showcasing the best of local food and drink, with everything from artisan bakes and street food favourites to locally brewed beers and craft gins drawing long queues throughout the day.

Beyond the food, the event offered a full family experience with attractions that kept people of all ages entertained. A lively stage hosted musicians across the weekend, providing a soundtrack of upbeat performances that created a festival atmosphere in the heart of the park. Children and adults alike were drawn to the giant football darts board, while the zorb racing track proved one of the most energetic and popular activities on site.

One of the most talked-about features of the festival was the exotic pet stand, which introduced visitors to a range of unusual animals. The company behind the attraction used the event to raise awareness about rehoming their animals, sparking plenty of interest from families looking to provide a new home.

With food, drink, music and unique experiences spread across Marketon Park, this year’s festival cemented its reputation as a celebration of Derby’s community spirit and creativity. Organisers and traders alike hailed the event as a success, with many visitors already marking their calendars for next year.
