Fresh from a standout hometown performance at Valiant Live, Derby’s Taylor Liam Jackson has released a brand new single, “Home”, a heartfelt indie anthem that looks back on the friendships and moments that define growing up.

Released on Friday 17 July, “Home” captures the feeling of long summer evenings spent with friends, from hanging around parks at sixteen to making memories in beer gardens a few years later. Rather than focusing on a physical place, the song explores the idea that home is found in the people who shape those moments.

Speaking about the track, Taylor said:

“The song is a nostalgic look at growing up. It recalls being sixteen, spending evenings in parks and fields with friends, making memories and never wanting the nights to end.

By eighteen, those moments have moved to sunny beer gardens, but the feeling remains the same. Home isn’t about a place, but the people and memories that make you feel at home. It celebrates friendship, youth, and the desire to hold on to the good times just a little longer.”

Produced and engineered by James Singleton, the track blends warm melodies, soaring guitars and a singalong chorus, continuing the band’s mix of Britpop-inspired songwriting with a modern indie edge.

It’s an exciting time for the Derbyshire outfit. After building a strong reputation across the local live circuit over the past year, they’re set to perform on the BBC Introducing Quarry Stage at Y Not Festival, where they’ll play their biggest show yet in front of thousands of festivalgoers.

With “Home” now available on all major streaming platforms and a huge summer ahead, Taylor Liam Jackson are another local band proving that Derbyshire’s grassroots scene continues to produce artists worth keeping an eye on.
