British music has lost one of its true originals with the unexpected passing of Gary Mani Mounfield at the age…
By K Futur MUSICThis Saturday, 19th October, at The Hairy Dog, Derby, fans of British wrestling are in for a treat. At KCW’s final event of the season – Fight of the Living Dead – Canadian-born Tim Strange steps into the ring to face Luke Douglas in what promises to be an explosive encounter.
Currently based in the North East of the UK, Tim admits the region has grown on him, though his heart still belongs to Canada. “It’s a great place,” he says, “but it isn’t home – I’m from Canada originally, so I prefer there.” Still, the UK has become the stage where he’s honed his craft and built a reputation as one of the most entertaining and unpredictable names in the independent wrestling scene.

A Love for Deathmatches and the Journey So Far
A self-confessed “silly goose”, Tim Strange doesn’t shy away from the chaos that defines deathmatch wrestling. “I’m a pro wrestler who loves deathmatches and I’ve always been a fan,” he explains. His passion for the genre has taken him across the world, earning respect and admiration for both his in-ring skill and his easygoing attitude.
For Tim, every step of his journey is special. “Everything is a highlight – I’m just happy to be here, travelling the world doing what I love with my friends.” That said, one moment stands tall: CZW’s Tournament of Death 22. “It was an honour,” he recalls proudly. “I’ve been a fan of CZW for 20 years, so to perform with them at one of their main events was both an honour and a privilege.”

Overcoming Challenges and Staying True
Behind the barbed wire and blood, Tim’s story is one of perseverance. “The job is the best in the world, but the people make it difficult,” he admits. “Sometimes people are blinded by their own ambition and will step on others to get there. Dealing with being let down by people early on was something to get over, but now I just help everyone and make wrestling better.”
That philosophy – to lift others up rather than compete against them – is at the heart of who Tim Strange is. His influences reflect that blend of grit and heart: Abdullah the Butcher, Stan Hansen and Dusty Rhodes. Legends who brought authenticity, emotion and chaos to every match.

Evolving and Looking Ahead
With years of training and experience, Tim’s approach continues to evolve. “Knowledge and learning just make you better,” he says. “It’s really about knowing how to adapt to what the fans want.”
And those fans have plenty to look forward to. Next year, Tim has big plans for WrestleMania Week in Las Vegas alongside BA Rose, as well as a packed calendar of shows. “A full diary is all I need to be happy,” he smiles.
A Message from Tim Strange
In an industry that can be intense, Tim’s message is refreshingly simple: “The world is a serious place – just have fun and do what makes you happy.” His advice to up-and-comers? “Keep going. The ups and downs are what make it worthwhile. It truly is the journey that makes this, not the final destination.”
