Born and raised in South Africa, his passion for racing began before he could even imagine a professional career on two wheels. Today, he’s one of Moto3’s most promising young riders, representing BOÉ Motorsports on the global stage and inspiring a new generation of racers with his fearless determination and relentless work ethic.
“I race fast bikes around the world,” he says with a grin that reveals both pride and humility. “It’s my passion, so I’m very grateful that I get to do this.”

From South Africa to Spain: A Journey Fueled by Ambition
Moodley’s roots in South Africa remain a central part of his identity, but it was a bold family decision that would ultimately propel his racing career to the next level. “I lived there for most of my life until my family and I moved to Spain to give me the best chance to achieve my goals,” he explains. “The training facilities are better here so it’s definitely helped me to grow as a rider. Here I train every day to improve myself.”
Spain’s world-class racing infrastructure and competitive environment have given Moodley the platform to develop his skills among the best. The move wasn’t just geographical-it was symbolic of a commitment to excellence, a willingness to make sacrifices for the sake of a dream.
Inspired by Greatness, Driven by Family
Ruché’s passion for racing runs deep in his blood. “My dad was a racer and when he introduced me to the sport, I immediately fell in love,” he recalls. What began as admiration for his father’s love of motorcycles soon evolved into a personal calling.
Among the riders he looks up to most is fellow South African Brad Binder, who has paved the way for a new generation of African talent on the MotoGP grid. “Brad Binder is a big inspiration to me because he has achieved great things and he is a great friend of mine,” Moodley says. “He is also from South Africa and I’ve known him since I was very young. My family is also a big inspiration to me, because I’ve seen how much they’ve had to sacrifice to give me the chance to achieve my goals.”

Rising Through the Ranks
Moodley’s hard work and consistency have already paid off in extraordinary ways. One of his proudest moments came when he signed with BOÉ Motorsports to race in the Moto3 World Championship. “Signing to race with BOÉ Motorsports in the World Championship is a moment that I will remember forever—it was a special day for me,” he says.
The partnership with BOÉ Motorsports has given Moodley the opportunity to prove himself against some of the fastest young riders in the world. It’s a test not only of speed and skill, but of resilience-something Ruché knows all too well.
The Challenges Behind the Checkered Flag
Every racer’s path comes with its share of setbacks, and Moodley has had to battle through injuries that threatened to halt his momentum. “I’ve had a few big injuries,” he admits. “It’s tough recovering because I’m used to training every day, but when I’m injured I’m forced to rest. It’s not easy dealing with the pain, but whenever I’m going through a tough situation, I am always motivated to come back stronger.”
His words reflect a maturity well beyond his years-a deep understanding that the greatest victories are often forged through adversity.

Learning, Adapting, and Evolving
Since moving to Europe, Moodley has dedicated himself to continual improvement, not just on the bike but in his mindset. “I’ve always worked hard since I started racing,” he explains. “I’ve definitely gained a lot of experience and learnt a lot racing in Europe during the last few years. I try to apply what I’ve learnt in the past every race weekend.”
That mindset of growth and reflection has become one of his strongest assets. “I’m currently working on myself and my mentality, trying to improve daily. I believe that I have what it takes to achieve my dreams,” he says, his focus unwavering.
Inspiring the Next Generation
Beyond personal achievement, Ruché Moodley sees his journey as a message of hope and perseverance for others. “I hope people feel inspired, and that they see that it’s possible to go through very tough situations and come back stronger,” he says. “I hope they will see that hard work can take you very far.”
It’s a sentiment that captures the heart of his story-a young rider from South Africa, fuelled by passion, supported by family, and determined to make his mark on the world stage.

Looking Ahead
As Ruché continues to carve out his path in Moto3, his ambitions remain as clear as ever: to keep improving, to keep pushing, and to one day compete among the world’s elite. “To be grateful for what you have and to never give up,” he says when asked what advice he’d give to others following their dreams.
