By K Futur LOCALFactory Food Court continues to raise the bar for Derby’s street-food scene, and if you’re craving big Caribbean flavour with proper comfort-food energy, JERK STATION should be your first stop. The venue itself is fantastic, buzzing with choice and character, but there’s something about the smoky spice drifting from JERK STATION that really pulls you in.
I went straight for the Mini Munch at £18, and let me tell you, there is absolutely nothing mini about it. This is a feast. A mountain of creamy, cheesy, unapologetically indulgent mac and cheese forms the base of the box, and it’s the kind of mac that hits you instantly with that buttery, velvety richness. It’s proper soul food.

Then you’ve got the chicken sizzler: hot, juicy, flavour-packed and exactly what you want when you’re in the mood for Caribbean-style heat. Add to that four jerk wings and three lamb chops, and suddenly you’re staring down a portion that could floor even the hungriest of diners.
The lamb chops were the standout for me – succulent, well-seasoned and cooked to perfection. Tender enough to fall off the bone yet full of that deep, spiced flavour you hope for when ordering Caribbean cuisine. The jerk wings? Always a winner. Personally, I love my wings fiery enough to make me sweat, but this version sits at a crowd-pleasing level of heat that keeps the flavour front and centre. Still punchy, still delicious, and ideal for families or those who aren’t after blow-your-head-off spice.

By the time I’d reached the bottom of the bowl I was absolutely stuffed. The whole dish is generous, comforting and full of personality. If you love Caribbean flavours, you’ll feel right at home. And if you’ve got kids wanting to dip their toes into something new, this is a brilliant introduction – flavourful, balanced, and not overly intimidating on the spice front.
JERK STATION delivers flavour that truly slaps, and Factory Food Court is all the better for having them. Highly recommended.
