British music has lost one of its true originals with the unexpected passing of Gary Mani Mounfield at the age…
By K Futur MUSICThe most chaotic night of live entertainment exploded back into life as Kumite Combat Wrestling once again took over The Hairy Dog for Fight of the Living Dead. The last Kumite felt like the limit of controlled chaos, but this one pushed every boundary. With multiple deathmatches, smashed glass, bloodied floors and a crowd that matched the insanity chant for chant, Fight of the Living Dead proved that KCW isn’t just keeping the underground wrestling scene alive, it’s fuelling it with pure adrenaline.
The moment the doors opened, the energy was unreal. Fans packed into the venue, the bar was heaving, and the air buzzed with anticipation. The stage was surrounded by stacked doors, panes of glass, mousetraps and boxes of mystery weapons just waiting to be broken. The noise never stopped. Every fight was brutal, unpredictable and loud. It wasn’t clean or corporate, it was filthy, fearless and completely unfiltered.

Match 1 – KCW Double Dragon Tag Team Championship
Lou Nixon & Brette Semtex vs Big Daddy Unicorn & Joseph Cardinal
Things kicked off with the KCW Double Dragon Tag Team titles as reigning champs Lou Nixon and Brette Semtex faced the Big Daddy Unicorn and Joseph Cardinal. Before the first punch, the crowd noticed that one man from each team looked alarmingly alike, sparking the night’s first chant of “He’s your dad!”.
Big Daddy Unicorn went full showman, mixing humour with violence. After a few jokes and a questionable prop, he wrapped his fist in metal chain and swung for the fences. The highlight came when one man lifted both opponents for a massive double slam that sent the crowd into a frenzy. The champions held onto their titles, but the night was just warming up.

Match 2 – KCW Boozerweight Championship Hardcore Match
David Grant vs Tommbie
The Boozerweight Championship has always been about beer, brawls and brutality, and this one didn’t disappoint. Tommbie, also known as Big Poppa Goth , made his entrance in chainmail as fans sang his name to the tune of Zombie by The Cranberries.
This time, the traditional beer cans were swapped for full kegs, which were smashed into each other like medieval weapons. Between broken doors and flying splinters, Tommbie pulled out a mannequin head from under the stage, prompting chants of “Give him head!” from the crowd. Even referee Steve got involved, holding David Grant steady for a flying attack. After crashing through both a door and an ironing board, Grant and Tommbie shared a beer mid-ring in a surprising moment of respect.

Match 3 – Singles Match
Big F’n Joe vs Franco Fate
When Big F’n Joe steps into a KCW ring, things are guaranteed to get ugly fast. Against Franco Fate, the mayhem was instant. Chairs splintered, doors shattered, and blood began to flow early as both men tried to outlast each other in sheer brutality.
The most wince-worthy moment came when salt was poured over open wounds, drawing screams from the crowd. Midway through, Tommbie returned to ringside to help Joe secure the win, creating a two-man wrecking crew that flattened Franco through a door for the finish. It was savage, it was messy, and it was peak Kumite.

Match 4 – KCW World Championship Deathmatch
BlueShe vs Mickie Knuckles
Before this one began, the fans were warned to “keep your wits about you”, and they needed to. The ring was already covered in glass tubes and debris from earlier fights, creating a dangerous playground for the World Championship Deathmatch between BlueShe and Mickie Knuckles.
Making her Kumite debut, Knuckles swaggered to the ring with a bottle of Lambrini in hand, instantly winning over the crowd. From there, things got bloody. The fight spilled across the floor and around the stage, with bodies crashing into glass and wood as the audience roared.
Every hit drew screams and chants. When BlueShe finally sent Knuckles crashing through a door, the crowd erupted with “Please come back!”, a huge show of respect for the American hardcore icon.

Match 5 – Hardcore Deathmatch
Tim Strange vs Luke Douglas
The next fight saw Tim Strange take on Luke Douglas in a hardcore brawl that was equal parts violence and comedy. Fans were firmly behind Tim, chanting “Let’s go Timmy!” as Luke threw himself at him with everything he had.
Then came the pumpkin — placed on Luke’s head, then Tim’s, then referee Steve’s, before chaos resumed. Tim put on his cowboy hat and went for his trademark “Rodeo Time”, but Luke escaped at the last second. The fight raged around the venue with both men swinging bamboo canes until Luke smashed a guitar over Tim’s back in a thunderous finish that brought the crowd to its feet.
Between matches, the audience chanted for the man sweeping up the glass and Lego from the ring. Only at Kumite could cleaning earn a standing ovation.

Match 6 – Hardcore Showcase
B.A. Rose vs Jack Bennett
This one was as inventive as it was violent. B.A. Rose and Jack Bennett fought through glass boxes, chairs and metal frames as the crowd egged them on. Midway through, someone spotted a pile of Lego near the stage, sparking chants of “Use the Lego!”.
Rose happily obliged. Lego was slammed into, scattered across the floor, and even eaten. After dominating most of the match, Rose set up to throw Bennett off the top rope, but Bennett reversed it and sent Rose flying into the shards below. A brutal chair shot and a flying kick followed, but Rose somehow battled back and scored the win in a wild, unpredictable finish.

Main Event – Death Wolf Championship (Best of Three Falls)
Alton Thorne (Champion) vs Antonin Gonzalez
The main event was an all-out war. Alton Thorne, the reigning Deathwolf Champion, defended his title against Antonio Gonzalez in a best-of-three falls deathmatch that redefined chaos. The stage was piled high with glass tubes, mousetraps, doors, skewers, nettles and even a television.
Alton struck first, forcing Gonzalez’s face into a bed of razor blades before shoving his head into a bag of nettles. The crowd roared “Alton’s gonna kill you!” as the champion dominated the early exchanges. Gonzalez fought back hard, sending Thorne crashing through a pane of glass as the fight spiralled further into madness.
Tensions flared when referee Steve disagreed with a count, prompting Gonzalez to snap and deliberately smash a light tube across his head, sending shockwaves through the crowd. The audience erupted, the atmosphere turning feral as chants of “Kumite!” filled the room.
Moments later, both men were launched through two doors and into the audience in an explosion of splinters and screams. Just when it seemed like it couldn’t get any more unhinged, a masked man dressed as a ninja appeared from the side of the stage, smashing more glass and shifting the momentum in Gonzalez’s favour.
The ninja returned for one final surprise strike before Gonzalez battled through the wreckage to take the final fall and claim the title. Alton lost the fight but won over the fans, staying in the ring afterwards to soak up the applause. Bloodied, defiant and surrounded by cheers, he left the crowd chanting his name.
Before the night ended, a heartfelt thank-you was given to Hollywood Fletch, marking his final Kumite event , a fitting farewell on one of KCW’s greatest nights.
Blood, Sweat and Beers
Fight of the Living Dead was Kumite at its absolute peak, loud, unrelenting and soaked in chaos. It was violent and hilarious in equal measure, but also strangely heart-warming, a collision of grit, punk attitude and fearless creativity. Every door that splintered and every shard of glass that hit the floor was met with a roar, a laugh or a chant from the crowd. It wasn’t just a show. It was a release.
We even brought a new member of the TREИDNG team for their first taste of Kumite, and by the end of the night they were screaming along with everyone else, completely converted. That’s the effect this place has. Once you’ve seen it, you get it.
Kumite Combat is more than wrestling. It’s the underground heartbeat of British wrestling culture. It’s raw, unfiltered and unapologetic.
