Sounds Like Yellow Live at The Grove, Nottingham – Friday 29th August

Nottingham’s live music scene is set for a huge night on Friday 29th August as Sounds Like Yellow takes to the stage at The Grove. With tickets just £6 in advance or £10 on the door, this gig is a must-see for fans of alternative rock, synth-pop, and everything in between.

Headlining the evening is Sounds Like Yellow, the brainchild of solo musician Matthew Hart. Known for blending 80s-inspired synths, driving guitar pop, and live sampling, Hart creates a sound that feels both nostalgic and modern. To celebrate the fresh release of his new EP “Phycocyanin EP”, he returns to the stage with a fresh and energetic show that promises to thrill fans of Tears for Fears, modern indie pop, and synth-driven anthems.

Supporting him are two standout acts. First up is Charlot, a composer, singer and instrumentalist originally from Brittany, France. With a background that spans classical music, rock bass, and experimental sounds, Charlot brings a truly multicultural edge to the line-up. His forthcoming album La Muse aux Fleurs is set to mix Midlands bounce with Breton soul, making his live performance in Nottingham the perfect preview.

Also joining the bill are Floodlines, an alt/indie rock band from Loughborough who recently supported Jonk at The Vic in Derby. Known for their raw energy and immersive sound, Floodlines move effortlessly between original tracks and inventive covers of their favourite artists, ensuring an exciting and unpredictable set.
