Help Keep One of Derby's Best Grassroots Music Venues Cool This Summer

It’s been a bit warm recently. In fact, if you’ve found yourself squeezed into a sold-out show at The Victoria Inn over the past few weeks, you’ll know it’s been hotter than Satan’s arsecrack. The atmosphere has been incredible, the bands have been on top form, but with a room full of people throwing themselves around to live music, the summer heat has definitely made itself known.

Now, one of Derby’s most important grassroots music venues is doing something about it. The Vic has launched a Crowdfunder to raise £3,000 for air conditioning in its 120-capacity gig room, making gigs more comfortable for audiences, artists and staff without losing the intimate atmosphere that makes the venue so special.

For years, The Victoria Inn has been one of Derby’s biggest champions of original live music, giving local artists and touring bands a stage while ensuring ticket money goes straight back to the musicians. It’s venues like this that keep the city’s music scene alive.
